The Daily PakistanPolitics Aug 16-31, 2014

  • Aug31-2014--Things had stablized somewhat in islamabad however the government has no way apart from the use of partial force against what can be called militant agitators...the Imran-tahir group have put paid to any hopes of acquiring the government now or in the future...Javed Hashmi the punjab university former JI student leader who was ditched by teh PMln has now left the PTI saying Imran has turned into a dictator and refused to follow earlier decisions...many feel he is nearing retirement...The corp commanders conference has been called this evening which could decide pakistans fate for some time to come...many hope the army can come up with something more stable than the bhuttos and sharifs who are the products of two earlier coups...while Raheel Sharif is not considered coup minded the constant turmoil in islamabad would turn a diehard peacenik(unterms of politics) army chief into a coup maker...The sharif government has no way out to douse the imran-tahir agitation unless they want the police tobe really proactive...The army however which uses real bullets can easily apprehend the agitators and clear the area of continuous turmoil...however whether they too have got fed up with the sharifs is not yet known...In case they have than starting from a mini martial law in islamabad it could soon turn into an interim military regime which could easily organize elections after jailing the agitators and the sharifs or simply they might bring on a new primeminister and chief minister...In case they are pro sharif than a real military buildup would be necessary to clear the area and bring the embattled sharif government in islamabad and lahore back to normalcy...In case of an immediate agreement they could easily setup an interim government to hold elections...It would largely depend on the corp commanders whether they want to reenter government so soon after demise of the Kiani led Zardari regime with the previous coupplotter still not thri his article six trial, a new candidate could emerge for a second trial...!many have surmised that some radical general or two could be behind the agitation which in hindsight has been terribly handled by the sharif's...The country would be in deep trouble if another military religious zealot emerged to take power...many feel that militant religious zealots whether civil or military should be avoided...!
  • Aug31-2014--The PPP again turned turtle and started opposing the government as parliament house was barely under the control of soldiers with real bullets...the lawns were occupied by the imran-tahir group...the soldiers will only open fire if ordered by the army chief...karachiites also refused to leave their homes and it turned into a ghost town...intermittent clashes between police and the imran-tahir group continued...Imran-tahir-altaf propaganda against the police has failed as they are regarded as doing their duty even under difficult circumstances...Imran Khan enjoying a scrumptuous breakfast while tahir qadri was begging for water apparently...many are suggesting that the PMLn mount a similar protest against the absent rulers of KP...chief minister KP acting as imrans security guard and manservant...there were no major casaulties as the police did not use real bullets and only fired tear gas...which the protestors are getting used to...the attacks from the imran-tahir groups were vicious which is shown by the large number of tear gas cannisters lying around...many of islamabads pavements are no more which were torn asunder by the unruly protestors to use as stones thrown on police who threw them back
  • Aug31-2014--Early morning situation suggests that overnight attempts to occupy parliament and primeminister house have failed...The police handled things pretty well in the skirmishes while the army(VIP security forces) cooly stood up to invaders at parliament house...demonstrators were being shown pushed down the hill probably from primeminister house which is at a considerable height...several camera vans staffed by mqm types were opened and thrashed by the police after they started turning openly against the government...most mqm type channels were spewing out propaganda against the government including adverse statements by the sindh governor...one of the most serious nawaz sharif mistakes include not replacing the sindh governor and having a political incompetent as the punjab governor...the governor and president are literally unaware that the people are not all millionaire bussinessmen...most mqm channels were in a fix as altaf hussein did several sommersaults during the night..joining the marchers at one stage and than again moving onto a midway spot of being an anti government onlooker...altaf hussein who has suffered from allegations of killing opponents in karachi, looting people, money laundering, killing a senior party member Imran Farook and throwing people his men had killed onto the streets in body bags...he needs a government change to rehabilitate himself and bring the mqm into the government...reports of police-demo clashes on the melody-polyclinic road...while things could get hotter in karachi and lahore
  • Aug31-2014--In a major escalation the imran-tahir militant natured groups moved towards the primeminister house and the police retaliated with tear gas shelling causing instant problems to the violence prone followers of the imran-tahir group...at least one death has been reported...Arytv is reporting seven deaths while others are saying no death took place...numerous injuries as the protestors withdrew back to the parliament area and started brandishing sticks... they subsequently broke thru the fence and entered the parliament compound...reports suggest that the army pushed them back but they have re-entered the compound in greater numbers...cleared again says the interior minister...the intentions of the imran-tahir group are now quite dubious and they have launched protests in other major cities...tommorrow they intend to march on jati umrah the nawaz sharif residence in lahore with strikes in karachi...the MQM with its known cloak and dagger nature has also announced joining the protests...Imran khan says he is working on an agenda that creates anarchy...that makes him a disciple of the terrorist tahir ul qadri...The PMLn seemingly fuddled seems to have no clear way of dealing with violence prone militant types...while nawaz sharif might not be directly blamed or culpable he seems almost totally impotent in the face of an opponent who is not hiding in the hills of Fata...the government now should get off its haunches and deal with the situation otherwise the primeminister should resign since he does not seem to really control the country irrespective of the protests...It is the governments responsibility to deal with law and order as well as development and electricity problems and terrorism...on most fronts nawaz sharif has shown an inability to deal with the situations past and present...just sitting in cabinet meetings and rarely attending parliament..he only seems to like foreign trips but has shown an irresponsible nature in dealing with most people problems...his only success has been against the taleban whom he has doused to a large extent...he has lost more support on the electricity tariffs that he has allowed tobe introduced than anything else but because of the varying individual effects people donot react despite the harming influence of a governmental activity...it is now almost certain that imran khan only seeks to topple him and is hardly concerned with electoral reform or dhandli...in fact he seems to be participant of the london conspiracy alongwith altaf hussein...
  • Aug30-2014--Three missing baloch men found dead on teh outskirts of Malir, karachi
  • Aug30-2014--Imran Khan and Tahir(death to my opponents) literally jumped and ran to the army chief as if children to a new ball...while Imran Khan has always wanted the armys approval Tahir literally wanted some general to do his bidding...the army many say prefers the occasional shahid afridi heroics to the calm winning style of Imran Khan in his cricketing days...anyway the confusion again ruined most of it as there was opposition to the words mediator, facilitator and guarantor...the army has played this role before and usually ends up taking over...Anyway there was no major change but the talks restarted...apparently the army told Tahir that he had no major role left in the agitation and that Imran Khan should talk about the dhandli commission and they would ensure its proper working and implementation...!others say facilitation means..."better start talking or" while mediation means "nawaz is saying this what do u say"...if u have trouble meeting on the street u can meet in the ISI chiefs office round the corner...The meaning of guarantor seems difficult to define...as it could mean couping and eliminating Nawaz Sharif if he is involved in dhandli or forcibly clearing islamabad if Nawaz Sharif wins...nawaz sharif who was easily frightened by the PPP does not seem too perturbed by the drone or clone antics...others suggest that clones of nawaz sharif have been sitting even in meetings with the army chief while imran khan said tobe looking for lookalikes if he has to commit harakiri...!others are suggesting the government should be quick to a solution otherwise these pukhtuns might start building mud huts in front of the national assembly...pukhtuns have been doing a creeping occupation of rawalpindi and islamabad since the mid sixties of ayub Khan...from selling corn on the cob and polishing shoes they have become owners of plaza's and big bussinesses...all the cobblers are usually pukhtun as is the current president
  • Aug29-2014--many are particularly waiting to see if the two marches really mean todo something if their talks fail or they will just go home with the tail between their legs...so fireworks or nawaz goes or they go...bringing in the army chief is dangerous as he might get too interested and takeover since the politicians really cant control or do anything without the police and army or he might start phoning in daily advice if he is successful in defusing the marchers...!
  • Aug29-2014--In another twist to the "two madmen" drama in islamabad the army volunteered to help resolve the two issue's after apparently suggesting that it was quite amusing and that nawaz sharif should continue his brand of non intrusive donothing dictatorship(dont know what to do please help)...nawaz sharif, his men and some of the PPP's and JI's men have failed to foment any consensus...others suggest that the JI which is particularly attractive to military and civilian dictators might be willing to form a caretaker regime under...!...many feel there is little difference in the qadri and mqm brands of terror politics...According to the Gilani precedent the primeminister has to go only if convicted or has a weak conscience...The SC said that it could order the army to clear the area under article 190...and obviously clear the constitution avenue of the riff raff...this after the delusional Tahir ul Qadri refused to accept the new FIR that the PMLn, police and judiciary had crafted...this after JIT reports said that armed men had been spotted on the rooftop of Qadri's office in the model town incident...Imran Khans constant movements even while standing suggest that he might be on insulin while his puffy eyes suggest that he should be on diuretics...!...while the Qadri-chaudhry duo accept no responsibility for the incidents the LHC has displayed a partiality for the Qadri brand of politics which may give them the chance to hang another primeminister/chief minister...both qadri and imran have to accept that the country does not need this brand of street dictatorship...there are enough education opportunities available in the country if children want to study or their parents want them to study...the governments past and present have destroyed employment opportunities for the educated and created no incentives for the locally educated...imran khan was already an acknowledged fast bowler when he went to england and only learned how to bounce from a good length...i dont think he learned his container politics from oxford which probably has a benazir tinge although she was blasted away...Qadri especially needs to know that the judiciary cannot be dictated to and probably governments as well...
  • Aug28-2014--talks faulter and meander to an unfinished end although reports suggest that Qadri has accepted a muk muka...The government should study appointing local political governors with the mqm governor almost threatening the government...both sindh and punjab governors imports...a bid to lodge a model town FIR failed as PMLn and PAT agitators barged into the police station...SC fears that such agitations could become the norm if this government is toppled as every future government could be threatened into subservience...ECP again rejects allegations and demands for its removal...PTi also submits 28 members resignations to the punjab assembly
  • Aug28-2014--three policemen and a doctor shot dead in karachi
  • Aug28-2014--In UK a man has been arrested for the murder of Imran Farook apart from three earlier suspects
  • Aug27-2014--The PTI finally able to file 31 of their 34 Mna's resignations...!
  • Aug27-2014--with the Taleban disappearing in the face of greater odds and drones...the violence prone independent groups of mohmand, orakzai and bajaur form a new group called the jamaatul ahrar
  • Aug27-2014--with PAT again threatening violence and wearing kafans...which is anti islamic as only a dead body should be wrapped in a kafan...The PMLn is unable to resolve the issue and at best they can only reasonably call a mid term election and forcibly remove the protestors...the other options are like literally accepting death sentences...the only option reasonably available to the PMLn to appease the marchers is to replace the primeminister and chief minister and tell Imran Khan and Qadri to go to hell and obviously file an FIR that is acceptable to both sides...The judiciary seems at best like firing shots into the air without giving a judgement that can resolve the situation...as the Chief Justice of the SC said they are just left to handle the dirty laundry...protestors have taken to drying their clothes on the iron railing at the SC...The three investigations into themodel town incident ie judicial tribunal, JIT and police all suffer from serious imperfections and are designed to serve various special interest groups...The PAT would probably agree now to let the judiciary handle it although the PMLn too thinks that they can handle the judiciary
  • Aug27-2014--The SC says clear the constitution avenue...the government says noone can...as the military starts getting riled up at the PMLn inability to solve things...In lahore a possibly minority judge rules that despite it not being a matter of culpability and arrest police should initiate an FIR against 29 including the primeminister...prima facie the judgement seems pretty wrong as in that case the FIR should also include the litigants that is PAT, its senior leadership and violence prone workers plus chaudhry shujaat/ qadri for conspiracy to revolt and topple a government...given the video evidence the police were provoked and forced to act and PAT according to police initiated the firing...government barriers and those privately setup are two different issues and creating nogo areas is wrong...
  • Aug25-2014--The PMLn is trying to gets its demo's going but the motivation or probably the money is not init...The rallies are small and donot as yet counter the PTI-PAT image...!
  • Aug25-2014--while the government and shah mahmood qureshi insist that five of the six demands have been agreed to by the PMLn...however Imran Khan is moving towards a more effective agitation method by attempting a paya jam strike...many suggest that Nawaz Sharif looks like he is waiting for a sucker punch...others say that they maybe able to appease Tahir ul Qadri by merely initiating an FIR and possibly replacing the ineffective punjab chief minister...Tahir ul Qadri's latest threat was to turn the national assembly into a graveyard...while many feel that imran khan is just shadow boxing he has been able to make many a diehard afficionada think that rigging must have taken place...
  • Aug25-2014--In what maybe called a journalist doing a journalist a favour Afzal Khan a former APP employee who has spent the rest of his life wiggling around the ECP in various positions accuses everyone involved of rigging elections in a PTI supporting Mubasher Luqman show on ARY Tv...nowadays the APP is issuing tirades against imran khan alongwith nawa-e-waqt and PTV
  • Aug24-2014--Death tolls from clashes in Kech reach 16...five militants killed in Orakzai in a clash with volunteers...In karachi three shot dead at a shrine while later two ASWJ men shot dead
  • Aug24-2014--PTI suggests that Nawaz Sharif resign for 30 days to complete the investigation of the rigged election...many feel that with the emerging situation that means he should go home for good
  • Aug24-2014--Asif Zardari went to meet Nawaz Sharif at raiwind the controversial land grabbing home of the sharifs...in an initial opening he suggested "abhi bhi 50-50 kar lo"..."kiya" says nawaz sharif..."raiwind palace for gods sake"..."no no" says nawaz..."however since u like me as primeminister so much u can join the government"..."50-50" said asif zardari again...The balochis these days are the biggest supporters of a punjabi primeminister
  • Aug23-2014--the ASWJ drops into the PMLn camp decrying the shiite supported PAT and PTI who they accuse of trying to foment a shiite dictatorship..they advocate a sunni shariah...the shiite supporting Dawn also rejects the marches...The ASWJ says 7000 of their workers have been killed by military, political regimes and extremist shiite/opponent groups but they have never mounted a street level agitation
  • Aug23-2014--another rainstorm hits peshawar killing 13 and destroyed two power pylons...
  • Aug23-2014--an FC soldier and civilian killed on the balochistan border as the intrusion of 70 men probably smugglers was blocked in qilla saifullah...In a gunbattle in dasht, Turbat the FC killed another 12 militants..
  • Aug23-2014--PTI has presented 27 of its 34 MNA's resignations to the speaker of the national assembly which should be accepted in about two weeks says the speaker...however negotiations were resumed...with some suggesting that the primeministers resignation as also discussed...The JI warned the PMLn that it might have internal opponents as well...some reports suggest that punjab governor chaudhry sarwar could emerge as a consensus interim figure although other sources suggest that it might be the unpopular finance minister...The media pressure on the PTI that it was losing support could force it to accept the SC commission...asif zardari whose do nothing attitude almost pushed the PPP into the gutter is also jumping onto the nawaz sharif bandwagon...The interior minister however continues to attempt to shift his responsibilities onto the PTI...his suggestion that the containers could stop a suicide boomber seem pathetic...even when the taleban threats were at their highest no containers were ever placed to block them barring the military establishments blocking a street and using concrete blocks in saddar rawalpindi and at the marriott in islamabad...
  • Aug22-2014--The pakistani economy has taken some hits from the marchers with the dollar getting to 101 as people like ishaq dar and nawaz sharif probably started to buy dollars to cover their families foreign stays...bussinessmen and teh rich are not very patriotic in such circumstances
  • Aug22-2014--It seems to have become apparent that the PMLn has been elected by the ECP rather than the people...the assemblies apparent suggestion that asking for the removal of a primeminister is unconstitutional seems pathetic in a parliamentary democracy...only the courts can declare anything as unconstitutional...The PPP and PMLn both seem tobe supporting a dicattorial primeminister who wants to do whatever he wants rather than be a point man for the people...the nawaz regime seems tobe moving towards being a GHQ controlled democracy...many are comparing the 2013 elections to the musharaf referendum and the ayub khan basic democracy elections...4% votes and i am president...it is the general impression that the PMLn elections were padded with extra votes which is why they are frightened of checking a large number of constituencies...that is the reason for the PTI's call for removing the fake primeminister...many feel that since most politicians are descended from the ayub khan military regime they have a basic animosity with the people and consider personal dictatorial rule as a preferred mode...if recent events are tobe studied than crowds have proved tobe government removers in many places...
  • Aug22-2014--by evening the government was again turning cagey on talks and had fired the Islamabad IG Aftab Cheema as supposedly he had asked for written orders on attacking the marchers...the PMLn also orrganized an attack on shah mahmoods multan home...in his place comes khalid khattak...!...the police are looking like very decent people compared to the violent verbally and otherwise politicians and danda/stone/iron rod biradri...apparently mustafa khar agreed that PAT had fired just four bullets at the police in model town incidents...mustafa khar in his time had organised a police strike and than brought in PAT type workers to handle roundabouts...Imran Khan has backed out of talks after the government refused to as they say even talk...he castigated the US for their interference and threatened the new IG and interior secretary as containers were again being placed to contain the demos...many feel that nawaz sharif can easily be replaced by almost anyone in the PMLn without it making too much of a difference...Shabaz Sharif considered by many tobe spine of the sharifs seems to have been knocked out by tahir ul qadri and in his place the innocuous or dumb looking punjab governor has started to lead the pack ...tahir ul qadri made fun of the empty national assembly and said that they even charged the country for aspirin and obviously suggesting that his one man dictatorship would be much better...
  • Aug21-2014--by last evening both marchers had issued their demands and committees for dialogue were in place with the PAT-PMLn meeting already having taken place and the PMLn-PTI meeting was taking place around midnight...emerging from hibernation into the committees were the controversial mustafa khar from PAT and ejaz ul haq from the PMLn...the imran khan demand was the resignations of Nawaz Sharif and ECP with new elections and Dhandli accountability...at the moment the PMLn was saying nothing doing on the resignation or an interim government...however Nawaz Sharif was scheduled to address the nation tommorrow...he could be gone by midday leaving a PMLn in turmoil with no suggestions who would takeover the reigns...other suggestions include an acceptable interim PMLn premier with Nawaz Sharif receding to Jati Umra while some are suggesting that he could jettison Shabaz Sharif while holding on himself...still others suggest the president could than ask him to carryon until a solution or heir is selected...that would solve the resignation issue in the interim...Imran Khan however is so in love with the roads of islamabad he says he wont leave until the Election Commission aka nawaz sharif at least go...what Imran Khan wants is a new election under a new ECP with accountability of dhandli...The PMLn according to their propaganda says that democracy and the constitution should be kept in the framework...when a premier can resign asking him to so is hardly unconstitutional...the situation handling of a fraudulent election is not in the constitution...the constitution can only deal with constituency aberrations...The PMLn is saying that a commission should look into dhandli allegations with the JI suggesting that around 30 constituencies be checked...an agreement could easily be reached on various aspects of how and when...the Qadri demands relate more to the model town incidents since noone wants him as a one man dictator..the PMLn says that the one man tribunal has reached conclusions without any evidence and now Qadri who intially opposed is supporting the tribunal report while the PMLn is opposing...again ways can be found to reach an agreement...
  • Aug20-2014--three policemen shot dead in karachi
  • Aug20-2014--In lahore the LHC sought government comments on why a lahore model town judicial enquiry report should not be made public...In related comments Qadri said that he had funds for running an agitation for two years...
  • Aug20-2014--In continued airstrikes on taleban hideouts in khyber and NW 48 militants were killed and 12 hideouts were wiped out...This comes in the wake of some renewed taleban activity...In Bajaur six were killed as a roadside bomb struck a school van...
  • Aug20-2014--In what can be termed as a breaking of the shackles the PAT and PTI moved into the red zone...It can also be termed the crane march as a crane was used to remove numerous containers on the way...with the march leaders agreeing not to attack buildings and the diplomatic enclave the governments resolve crumbled and the VIP security service, police and rangers cleared the way and moved inside buildings like the parliament...Imran Khan said that if nawaz sharif did not resign than they would occupy the nearby primeminister's house...Qadri however said that was imran khans shararat...the sitin was tobe outside parliament however in the morning the qadri supporters had moved to the gates of the state secretariat further up the road...The imbroglio deepened with no contacts between the warring parties...The ISPR in a surprise move asked the government and opponents to exercise restraint and initiate a dialogue...opposition initiatives fell by the wayside as they generally opposed imran khan/qadri's extreme moves...
  • Aug19-2014--The pathetic Modi regime calls off secretary level talks as is the general nature of most indian governments...they say the pakistani ambassador met a hurriyat leader...pakistani leaders and ambassadors have been meeting hurriyet leaders for over a decade and they have even visited pakistan...so that is nothing new and no reason..many feel that the indians with the Nawaz regime in trouble would prefer to wait and see whether the pathetic do nothing PPP regime returns to power...whom they could roll around much more easily...
  • Aug19-2014--four killed in karachi in probable sectarian atatcks
  • Aug19-2014--The JI has suggested that 30 seats from three big parties should be opened for reevaluation and if things seem tobe dhandli prone than relections be ordered countrywide...while this is constitutionally impossible legally it could lead to opposition from the sindh, balochistan and KP provincial assemblies...meanwhile the PTI suggested that they were ready to resign from the assemblies but were heldup by complications from KP...many have questioned why the PTI is sitting in assemblies that might have been elected by fraudulent means...elections have tobe held within a stipulated time frame after the assemblies are dissolved or resignations take place...The Election Commission has again rejected allegations of fraud and dhandli...Imran might yet reach the primeminister house as he has threatened to invade the inviolable red zone with Qadri saying bhe will spread his agitation countrywide...The KP ministers were celebrating as they would not collect federal taxes or pay taxes/utility bills...many suggest that one option could be for Nawaz Sharif to form a wide ranging coalition or even find a consensus primeminister to handle the crisis...
  • Aug18-2014--after dousing his threats to invade the primeminister house Imran Khan labeled Nawaz Sharif as corrupt saying that he has bribed judges, journalists and even attempted to buy generals...despite his own views of literally doing a french revolution on Nawaz Sharif he said that he would be peaceful but the workers might not be stoppable...he announced a civil disobedience movement and some say he wanted his mpa's and mna's to resign as well...tahir ul qadri announced a 48 hour ultimatum and tried to suggest that he was just a normal revenue gatherer and he would subject the populace to just more taxation and the problems in his path too were just the Sharif's...Nawaz Sharif on the other hand also tried hide behind the limited existence of parties like the ANP, Mqm and JI...and he was trying to make multi party negotiating teams for the two diehard opponents...it could be an exercise similar to the failed taleban negotiations and Imran/Tuq should ask for talks directly with Nawaz Sharif our a senior minister...!
  • Aug17-2014--In late developing news Imran Khan who seems tobe attempting to snatch the crazy crown from tahir ul qadri said that they would occupy the primeminister house today...that would be a severe challenge for the security apparatus as the army has been specifically called in to protect that area...even though the constitutional avenue is not too well protected it depends on Nawaz Sharif whether he would block Imran khans new movement plans...ie give the order to shoot and kill or hand over the primeministers house...
  • Aug17-2014--In developments that caused more hilarity the march participants were seen roaming around murree reported one Tv channel...Imran Khan seemed to diasappear after a fajar speech...and tahir ul qadri reverted to his unconstitutional takeover threats by literally kicking imran khans views in the butt...most of his views seemed to reflect those that comeup after a military takeover...many feel that tahir ul qadri could be a front for a retired general or a party licking its wounds with no hopes of power...with coup plotters in attendance many regard the march leaders as dangerous...who could even have more dangerous hidden liaisons...In further trouble for the Sharifs a lower judiciary judge ordered that a case be initiated against nawaz sharif, shahbaz sharif and his ministers for the model town violence
... Nawaz Sharif who seems to lack a capacity for self thinking wants to rely on the JI chief for negotiations but he became controversial by saying that he is now in the Imran Khan camp...many felt that the punjab governor was unclear in his thinking despite hearing verbal violence from the march camps...Tahir ul qadri tried to get shops to open in islamabad suggesting that his violence prone followers would pay for what they took..others commented that those who did not pay toll taxes would hardly pay for anything else...The two marches only agreed on their animosity to the sharifs otherwise they were poles apart...If the Sharifs go than they could be replaced by others from their parties. Not many place much hope in any acceptable interim setup for elections...most are thinking of the slow and plodding Mariam Sharif who was becoming a possible heir apparent...until things started to unravel...
  • Aug16-2014--In another development the SHC refused to deploy judicial officials for two by elections in sindh...
  • Aug16-2014--four militanst killed near landikotal as security forces fire a rocket at a car that would not stop for checking
  • Aug16-2014--the two marches finally arrived in islamabad in the night and camped on two parallel roads the suhrawardy and the kashmir...rains pelted islamabad and more were forecast to possibly drown their unconstitutional intentions
  • Aug16-2014--The SC hearing a petition from the SC Bar association barred all state functionaries primarily the army to resist any unconstitutional urges...while the army has let Nawaz Sharif handle everything the situation could turn uncertain given dictatorial tendencies in the march camps...an earlier decision also bars SC judges from supporting any unconstitutional power monger...one judge Saqib Nisar however was missing from teh panel...
  • Aug16-2014--at least sixteen people were killed in peshawar rainstorms causing criticism tobe levelled at the chief minister who was whiling away his time in a state guest house in islamabad participating in an imran khan march...alongwith his ministers...
  • Aug16-2014--by midnight both marches were near or on the outskirts of rawalpindi and there was some confusion where they would be held ...Imran Khans trek on a truckcontainer ended in gujranwala where PMLn protestors showered him with bricks and shoes...there were allegations of bullets being fired at the container and PTI leaders finally shifted to cars and drove on under police protection...what Imran Khan was saying that he would not budge from islamabad until Nawaz Sharif resigned...that presently seems impossible so there would have tobe some sort of negotiations before the sit-in ends...Nawaz Sharif is not regarded as too strong willed but there is no heir apparent in the PMLn...If the army does not push than Nawaz Sharif can survive...if Nawaz Sharif goes than so will his long time colleagues and possibly a younger candidate could takeover...There is no possibility barring unconstitutional means in which Imran Khan /tahir ul qadri can literally be handed power...the two marches headed out seperately and tahir ul qadri continued his unruly behaviour by suggesting that he be allowed to roar on the constitutional avenue...The interior minister made it clear that the red zone must not be breached as it would be dealt with uncompromising force...the sitins on offer were initially zero point that shifted to the kashmir highway for the PTi and Pat was refusing to hold theirs on the seventh avenue...

how bhuttos got into politics in 1958...

debacle in Dacca

debacle in Dacca
total humiliation...India had steadily destabilized east pakistan over twenty years playing on ethnic, financial, development and military concerns...pakistan was not that rich at that time and the ethnicists played on phsychosis generated by cyclones, floods, tea and jute...the army and west pakistani politicians could not accept a bengali dominated government and a small army contingent could not defend against the mukti bahini and the indians as teh US withdrew its support as usual...When teh going gets tough teh US chickens out as usual...!! The indians have continued teh same themes in karachi, sindh and balochistan but similar tougher responses have not allowed their success although pakistan is now at best a divided land with a pathetic center...!!While it left pakistan numb at the time many now feel the seperation was a proper solution as east pakistanis did not get along with pakistan and they would be better able to solve their problems with india...others still pine away for the lost land of rivers, tea and jute...others suggest that india should handover kashmir in exchange...while some still want to repatriate those considered pakistanis and left stranded in bangladeshi camps...others however heave a sigh of relief as teh problems with the remaining provinces are generally insoluble.....and ethnic regionalism or provincialism mixed with economic and racial nonsense is not a pleasant mode of politics anyway...

allah be praised

allah be praised
allah be praised...i do own forty factories but the people think i am a pauper...i really donot need sarkari umra's....please allah i did not promise imran khan the government when he fell off the platform...cant u make him my slave and not ask for recounts...!
